Caroline Horlock
Hello! I’m Caroline, a dedicated movement educator, Pilates instructor, and Nutritionist with a passion for helping people lead healthier, more active lives. Since training over 20 years ago I have combined my expertise in movement, injury management, and nutrition to guide clients towards a balanced, energised lifestyle.
My Pilates journey began with Body Control Pilates, where I trained in Matwork Pilates, also learning under the mentorship of Helge Fisher, one of the field’s pioneers. Early in my career, I also had the privilege of working alongside Gordon Thompson, which further deepened my understanding of movement. I later continued my training in Rehabilitation Studio Pilates with Polestar Pilates, working closely with physiotherapists and osteopaths to refine my knowledge of injury recovery and optimal movement.
My Journey
My love for movement began in early life as a member of a youth contemporary dance company, where I first discovered the incredible potential of the human body. Growing up by the sea, I spent countless hours sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and surfing, using Pilates and dance enhanced my stamina an balance in these sports.
During my 20’s living in France, I continued to explore movement, using Pilates to improve my snowboarding and overall strength. These experiences shaped my approach to Pilates, understanding its use is not to be confined to the studio but to enable strong fluid, functional movement for our life’s adventures—whether on the mountain, in the sea, or in everyday life.
I am continuously expanding my expertise, having completed additional training in Soft Tissue Release, GP Exercise Referral, and pre/post-natal Pilates. Currently, I’m training in The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method, adding another dimension to my movement education.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me enjoying the outdoors with my children—kayaking, surfing, skim boarding, hiking and making the most of every opportunity to stay active and connected to nature.
My Classes
I believe that movement is powerful, and my classes reflect this philosophy. They combine deep knowledge of postural alignment, tissue health, and cross-training techniques from various disciplines. Each class is designed to have a clear purpose—whether it’s improving flexibility, building strength, or enhancing overall well-being—beyond just ticking off exercises. My small group sessions are filled with personalised tips, ensuring each participant leaves with valuable insights they can apply to their daily lives.
I also offer 1:2:1 sessions tailored to individual needs, focusing on areas like injury recovery, post-surgery rehabilitation, and postural training.
Nutrition
As a Nutritionist, I emphasise the importance of nourishing your body from within. I believe that a well-balanced, personalised diet can dramatically improve your energy, mood, and overall vitality. Whether you’re looking to enhance your athletic performance, recover from an injury, or simply feel better in your everyday life, I offer tailored nutrition plans that align with your lifestyle.
My nutrition services are available as standalone consultations or as part of a broader health coaching package, which can include Sports Therapy consultations for a fully integrated approach to well-being.
